Six devices, sketch to field
Each of these started as a researcher's problem and ended as a working unit under water, in a greenhouse or on an animal. I did the electronics, the mechanics and the firmware on all of them.

Coral Reef Probiotic Dispenser
An autonomous underwater doser that keeps heat-stressed coral supplied with probiotics. Swappable reservoirs with magnetic-drive mixing, encoder-controlled 1 cc dosing across 10 channels, and up to six months on a charge. Deployed in the Red Sea.

Plant Root Phenotyping Machine
A 4-axis imaging robot that photographs germinating roots around the clock, with programmable RGB lighting and heated anti-condensation stages, feeding a deep-learning analysis pipeline. Patented and published in Plant Methods.

Marine Animal Tracking Tag
A potted, submersible tag logging GPS, depth, temperature and orientation, offloading data whenever the animal surfaces. LoRa and ARGOS-satellite variants, deployed on seals in the Caspian Sea.

Accessibility Device for Speech Therapy
Lightweight headgear that reads lip and mouth movement with flexible magnetic tags and an array of magnetoresistive sensors, streaming over BLE to a phone app for real-time syllable classification. Published in Advanced Intelligent Systems.

Handheld Nitrogen Dioxide Detector
A pocket-sized NO₂ detector built around a novel IGZO thin-film transistor sensor: integrated pump, sealed sampling chamber, signal conditioning and UV regeneration, resolving well below the 5 ppm OSHA limit.

Multipurpose Marine Sensor Buoy
A solar-powered surface buoy and submerged sensor hub that stream giant-clam behaviour, light and surge data to the cloud over cellular in real time. First-author paper at IEEE Sensors Applications Symposium 2020.
